Frequently Asked Questions â ITAD for Schools
What is IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) for schools?
ITAD for schools is the secure and responsible process of collecting, wiping, and recycling retired school technology. This includes student laptops, staff devices, tablets, desktops, and other classroom equipment that are no longer in use.
What types of school devices do you accept?
We accept laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, desktops, monitors, printers, servers, projectors, SMART boards, networking gear, and other classroom or office electronics. If youâre unsure about an item, send us a list and weâll confirm.
How do you protect student data on devices?
All data-bearing devices are securely wiped or destroyed using NIST 800-88âaligned methods. We can also follow district-specific reset procedures for Chromebooks and tablets. A Certificate of Data Destruction is available for your records.
Can you help with large device refreshes or 1:1 program rollovers?
Yes â we support large-scale school refresh projects, including 1:1 device rollovers, end-of-lease collections, hardware upgrades, and campus-wide cleanouts. Our team can palletize, label, and remove equipment from classrooms and storage areas.
Do you offer pickup from our school or district?
Yes. We provide scheduled pickups for schools across the Bay Area. Pricing depends on the volume of equipment, number of locations, and labor required. Quotes are provided after reviewing your inventory.
Can you provide asset reporting for our IT records?
Yes â we offer make/model/serial reporting and data-destruction confirmation. This helps schools keep accurate IT records, improve inventory systems, and complete audit requirements.
What happens to our old devices after you collect them?
Devices that still have usable life are tested and refurbished for reuse. Remaining items are sent to certified recycling partners where metals, plastics, and components are responsibly recovered.
Are your services compliant with school privacy and environmental rules?
Yes. Our data-destruction processes help schools meet student privacy obligations, and our recycling partners are R2-certified or equivalent. All devices are handled according to California e-waste regulations.
Do you work with individual schools or full districts?
We serve single campuses, private schools, charter networks, and large public districts. Whether you have one pallet or multiple truckloads, we can scale to your needs.
How does pricing work for ITAD for schools?
Pricing is project-based and depends on equipment volume, pickup logistics, and any data-destruction or reporting needs. Some newer equipment may qualify for buyback credits to help offset costs.
How do we get started?
Submit your equipment list or rough counts through our ITAD for Schools form. Weâll review your details, provide a quote, and help schedule pickup or onsite services.
